Suanne Wamsley has spent her life riding and drawing horses. Working in colored pencil, Suanne specializes in horse racing art and commissioned equine portraits.
A former graphic artist, Suanne has a BFA from the University of Wisconsin and has continued independent study of the horse through her love of the animal. In 1985, Suanne settled in New Mexico with her horses - who have served as models for various art pieces.
Suanne's work has appeared on the covers of many major horse publications, including the Quarter Horse Journal, Paint Horse Journal, Appaloosa Journal, Speedhorse, Quarter Racing Record, and Southern Horseman.
Suanne has been commissioned to create the Posters for these world champion horse shows:
- 1993 & 2005 APHA World Show Poster
- 1999 & 2002 AQHA World Show Poster
Suanne has been commissioned throughout the country by owners of race and show horses. In 1989, "The Break" won the Sprint Award sponsored by the American Quarter Horse Association.
Suanne's latest commission has been creating the artwork for the Western Horseman's Legend Series Book Covers.
